This system may include a TV or projector, a DVD/Blu-ray player, a cable/satellite DVR, a surround-sound receiver, and probably a media streamer (such as a Google Chromecast or an Apple TV). That should cover the average audio/video enthusiast’s system and then some. But at the end of the process, this remote should be able to do most everything you need it to. These steps are not as quick or intuitive as using an app, and the owner manual is not as clear and concise as it could be. The programming process is old-school, though: You have to manually input codes for your different AV devices and then teach the remote any functions that are missing or executing incorrectly. The layout is clean, albeit somewhat generic-looking, and the buttons are fairly large. This fully backlit remote can control eight devices and has all the important buttons you need, including three activity controls that allow you to group devices together to watch a movie, listen to music, or watch TV. If the remote still executes the command, it’s likely using Bluetooth or RF, not IR. If you’re not sure how your device is controlled, try this: Point your device’s remote at the floor in the opposite direction from the device’s location and then press a button. The Insignia 8-Device Backlit Universal Remote is a good choice for people whose gear works via infrared control (IR) it doesn’t work with devices that you control by Bluetooth, radio frequency (RF), or Wi-Fi. It lacks backlighting, and it has no dedicated activity buttons for grouping different devices together to perform tasks such as “watch TV” or “watch a movie.” You can still create activities and assign them to random buttons, but you have to figure out all the programming yourself-and we fear that the app’s learning curve may be difficult for someone who has never programmed a universal remote. While the U2 remote is better than everything else we tested, it still has some notable drawbacks. You can program the U2 using a setup app for iOS or Android, and the app provides a lot of customization options to reassign what the remote’s buttons can do. The remote’s button layout is intuitive, and the OLED screen at the top makes it easy to switch between the AV devices you want to control. It can control up to 15 devices, including both infrared- and Bluetooth-based AV devices, so it’s more flexible than many lower-priced remotes, which typically work only with IR devices. Leave the other posts as they are, they are either guides for holding things in place or presses for the metal buttons that don't need this fix.The Sofabaton U2 Universal Remote Control offers more features and control options than similarly priced competitors. Its more work but won't flake off as easy as the paint or wear out like the pencil solution tends to do. Another option some commenters have mentioned is using foil tape: cut small pieces of metal foil or foil tape and affix to the buttons. Too much and it will flake off and cause problems like ghost presses and lockups. Don't use too much paint though, a thin coating of it is plenty. For a more permanent solution that works much better, use conductive paint to coat the black dots instead. They should end up with a shiny gray color instead of the black they were. Using the pencil, color in each black dot! Go over them heavily to make sure the pencil lead really coats the dot. This will expose a transparent/white plastic piece that should lift off easily to expose the button membranes. There are 3 screws holding the main board in place, remove them. The step-by-step instructions for adjusting folder access levels for users who are browsing content in Looker are discussed on our Organizing and managing access to content documentation page. To manage that level of access, see the Controlling Feature and Data Access section on this page. They can also contain other folders, facilitating a nested hierarchy of organization.įolders let you set access levels that determine which users may edit folder contents (such as Looks and dashboards), view the contents in a folder, and change settings:Ī user needs to have at least the View access level to a folder to see that the folder exists, to view the Looks and dashboards inside it, and to copy the Looks and dashboards in the folder.Ī user needs to have the Manage Access, Edit access level for a folder to manage access to the folder and to edit the folder and its content (including renaming folders, moving content, and deleting Looks and dashboards).įolders do not otherwise control what users can do on the Looker platform, or which data they can use to build their own content. Looker folders let you organize sets of dashboards and Looks. For access filters, consider using user attributes since you can assign user attributes to groups. If no combination of groups is enough, consider creating a group with only one user, which lets you potentially expand that group to more people in the future. Typically the combination of activities to allow for a user can be arranged by having that user belong to one or more groups. The best practice is to use groups to avoid the tedium of assigning, adjusting, and removing controls for users individually. Users are managed on the Users page of Looker's Admin panel, while groups are managed on the Groups page of Looker's Admin panel. In Looker there are both individual users and groups of users. Most permissions are applied to specific model sets, such as being able to see user-defined dashboards based on those models.ĭata access, feature access, and content access for users and groups combine to specify what users can do and see in Looker. Some of these permissions apply to the entire Looker instance, such as being able to see all schedules for sending data. Feature access is managed by Permission Sets, which make up the other half of a Looker role.
They are taking up way too much space! KatValkyrie said: The new coat of paint is very welcome, and the first iteration is looking snazzy. At least with this you would NOT need to scroll that much. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your progress on this, and I hope it leads to a much more easy to use player experience down the road.Īs for the spells a better way to display those would be tabs for each spell Level! (A tab for Cantrips, for Level 1, 2. DDB does a fine job of that, if you're looking to emulate them further. Some kind of compromise to condense Spells and their information (casting time, range, VSM, Concentration, etc) to a single line would be ideal (or two with the spell text snippet). Even casters at level 10ish start having quite a lot of spells to sift through, and I anticipate this being a pain point. Even if high-level play is not the norm, it should still be considered in your design philosophy. Having to scroll that much to even get a glance at what is available at any given time is unfortunate as a person who is very visual, and likes seeing an overview of all my options, as we can do on the current sheet. 1-20 cleric, and even disregarding unprepared spells (as it seems like there is also an interface for that I cannot yet judge), and the fact that high level characters are rarer, a layout like the one proposed above would not even get though all my cantrips at once visually. Below is the spell section of my recently-retired lv. Only being able to see 4 (to proably 6, depending on character sheet window size) spells at a time is not at all ideal when playing a caster with a ton of options. I have one huge worry about the new sheet from images posted in the article, and that's the new spells section on the player sheet having a ton of padding and UI bloat, and each spell taking up a huge amount of visual space. There's a bunch honestly, you just have to go digging and be creative with your search terms! If you like something someone is doing, buy it and send them a message. The new coat of paint is very welcome, and the first iteration is looking snazzy. You'll have to get creative with your searching BUT there are some resources to help you build things on your own like. I know it can be frustrating jumping into Roll20 as a cyberpunk gamer, because compared with all the ready-made content for the fantasy/DnD side of things it's kind of a drop in the bucket. If you use the search function in the marketplace, you'll find many different NPCs and such available for cyberpunk games, as well. The ever-lovely Gabe Pickard has an entire pack of transportation icons, too for this genre. Right now there are some maps up that you can buy, like this one ! There's also vehicles in there, so that might be a bonus buy for you there. What we can do is make non-branded generic cyberpunk content like NPCs and such, though. It's important to first point out that Shadowrun is copyrighted intellectual property unless a creator has licensed the ability to create Shadowrun-specific content, they won't be able to create some of what you're looking for (think Doc Wagon stuff, stuff specific to Knight Errant, Lonestar, etc.) or reproduce character sheets or artwork from the resource books. The airplanes will take off, bomb the target, and return to base and refuel, to being another round of airstrikes. Selecting the attack function allows you to pick one target to bomb. How do I use them? Airplanes have two attack functions: attack, or patrol. It's up to you to decide if you need them.Īfter having built your planes, now comes the big question. It also costs a fortune to build and takes a level 3 airbase. However, it's range is very poor, and it cannot be upgraded. The rocket fighter is an extremely powerful fighter, with incredible speed. The fastest air unit (excluding rockets) is the mentioned above, the rocket fighter. This plane takes a level 2 airbase to build, so it is a good choice to go along with tactical bombers. Naval Bombers are the only unit that can spot submarines lurking around your coasts, and they are exceptionally good at destroying transports. One of the best units in Call of War, Naval bombers specialize in destroying ships and submarines. They are best used to scout and destroy empty cities. This plane is extremely expensive to build, taking a level 3 airbase, tons of materials, and an industrial complex. They have incredible range, but fairly slow speed. Strategic Bombers are specifically designed for destroying buildings, and scouting. However, this is what will win you games. This plane costs more materials to build, and takes a level 2 airbase and industrial complex to build. This is the unit that does the most damage against land units. Tactical bombers are the main plane of Call of War. They are used early on for scouting, and, later, for defending against planes in the air. They require only a level 1 airbase and an industrial complex to build. Interceptors are small, cheap planes to build. There are five types of planes in Call of War, each with their own specialties and weaknesses. Any good player knows the true worth of planes on the battlefield. They are fast, do a lot of damage, and are reasonable to build. Planes are some of the best units in Call of War. The present essay explores this last line of inquiry, looking at how truth-seeking balances against sensitivity to speed and economy in arbitration.Īccuracy in arbitration means something other than absolute truth as it might exist in the eyes of an omniscient God. At some point, the additional enlightenment to be gleaned from more information will be offset by the value of finality and economy. Examining documents and listening to witness testimony will cost time and money. In the common law tradition such communications implicate rules of evidence intended, albeit in part, to enhance the prospect of reaching a correct conclusion.įinally, a view from the hilltop (somewhere between the trenches and the Alpine peaks) looks at how goals other than truth-seeking enter the equation. This vista includes the art of advocacy and tools to persuade decision-makers that one view of the case has more merit than another. With varying degrees of sincerity, thinkers since antiquity have asked, ‘What is truth?’ 3īy contrast, lawyers in the litigation trenches consider ways that rival versions of truth influence the judges, juries and arbitrators who decide cases. A panoramic perspective from 6,000 meters (20,000 feet for American alpinists) might examine reality in an abstract way. Several levels of inquiry present themselves. 2 Yet truth-seeking lies at the core of what arbitration is about, and cannot long be avoided in any serious discussion of the subject. Often underrated or misjudged, truth has dispatched more than one mind beneath the intellectual storm waves of a giant analytic sea, and anyone venturing to explore its contours must do so with fear and trembling. In deciding disputes accurately, arbitrators promote the type of promise-keeping that underpins the positive economic teamwork that marries public and private welfare. Like historians, arbitrators normally focus on things as they were, seeking the most reliable account of the controverted events giving rise to the claims. A poet can say things as they ought to have been, whereas the historian must write things as they were. In response, a young scholar suggests two different ways to view the world. After all, he adds, Virgil embellished the piety of Aeneas just as Homer enhanced the wisdom of Odysseus. At one point in the story, the Don objects to narratives of his defeats, arguing that heroes deserve praise, not scorn. A Moorish enchanter had recorded the Don’s adventures, defeats and victories. Often called the first European novel, Don Quijote de la Mancha weaves together the idealistic quests of a slightly delusional Spanish gentleman who saw himself as a knight errant long after the age of chivalry had ended. YMMV, but I always advocate for A/B testing your resume while you apply. I recently booked a graphic design client because my resume made an impression on someone that interviewed me for an admin job over a year ago. Taking advantage of that for a resume has served me well. Like it or not, our brains are primed for bright, aesthetic, attention-grabbing content. Hiring teams are made up of people - people who watch TikTok and scroll through Instagram in their spare time. If I know that I'm sending a resume to a person, NOT applying through an ATS, the wild resume has yielded more interviews and offers than a traditional one ever has. I currently work in a non-creative role in a creative-adjacent field, but even before I did, I have had a rainbow resume. I know it's an unpopular opinion in this sub that'll likely get me down voted, but my resume is similar to #1 but with more colors, and it's been a great asset for me personally. The cashier will tell you the total out of courtesy, and so you can make sure it's correct. I just have to unlock my phone and tap it on the scanner. You don't even need to carry your card (and probably shouldn't) - Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted nearly everywhere these days. If a PIN is required, you type it on the scanner. No one takes your card, you just tap it on the scanner and payment is processed. The card scanner is in front of the customer, not the cashier (except in some small chains and mom & pop shops). In most places this doesn't happen anymore. : does something for a 3-4 secs with my card inserted: This doesn't typically get asked anymore because it doesn't matter for us. I'm really confused on why POS systems in India are so complicated. It'll be very odd for us to have to tell our bank the amount we want to pay especially when the POS should already request the total automatically when you swipe or tap. We just swipe or tap and pay (sometimes you have to enter your zip code or pin though depending on the type of payment though but most of the time you don't). You said it's much simpler but it's more complicated. It's as if the QR code is just to make a connection between you and the merchant instead of also telling your banking app the amount and that it's a secure payment to be made. It's more surprised that you have to enter the amount you have to pay in your phone app instead of the QR code having that information already and doing it automatically. Sounds like your POS in India may be a little dated if it needs this much input from the user and doesn't do most of these things automically. Yeah this is overall complicated and we don't have to do nearly as much here in America.
